My Personal Info."Who is this guy anyway?" I've described myself the best way I could on this page to give you the opportunity of knowing me. The content is divided in five sections: WHO
I am Adrian McNeil Cumberbatch, a 22 year old barbadian male. I am currently a professional student (after being at school for most of the 22 years of my life) and became a proud father on 15th November 1996, to one of the sweetest baby girls God ever created. I am still single but attached with the intension of being permanently affixed in due time.
In the life of a professional student, there is little time for anything other than our great task; the pursuit of knowledge. Much time is spent in large cold artificially lighted rooms staring at endless words in the hope that at some point in time they will become meaningful; rushing to meet endless deadlines, not to mention enduring the stress of constant grueling examinations.
This is what I do in a nutshell. My major area of study is in Computer Science (with a tidbit of Mathematics) at the
University of the West Indies (U.W.I.) I do however have a life
outside of U.W.I. Most of that other time is spent with my Asha, trying to keep her out of trouble and watching her grow.
As for sports and hobbies, those are sort of abstract terms which don't exist in my vocabulary any more, at least not till I graduate. I do have an interest in
watching cricket and football but Tennis of all types would be my main area of
sports if any. I also enjoy surfing the Internet checking out the on-line versions of popular
computer magazines (since I hardly ever have enough money to visit the newsstand), downloading
freeware and shareware and looking at hardware prices. My system at home has a Windows 95 Operating
System running on an AMD 5x86 with 24 MB of RAM and 2.1 GB of drive
space.
When I was born was November 17th 1975. My daughter Asha was born 2 days before my 21st birthday but believe me, she's much more than a birthday gift. In 1987, I left my old primary school of Speightstown Boys' and started my secondary education for 5 years. I did 6 O'levels at CXC in 1992, the same year that I graduated, and went on to the Barbados Community College for 2 years. In 1994, I matriculated in the U.W.I. to begin my Bachelor of Science degree. When I graduate from campus (in '99) I plan to work and continue studying to increase my worth as a computer science graduate in one of three areas:
WHERE
"There are two types of persons in the world - Bajans and those who wish they were!" Luckily, I'm one of the first mentioned types and proud of it. I live in the northern part of Barbados in the parish of St. Peter about one Km from Speightstown along the west coast.
Where I go to school is Barbados'
version of the U.W.I. commonly called the Cave Hill Campus. Its smaller than the other U.W.I.
campuses and like any other university, there's plenty of hard work for everyone.
I like to think of myself as a unique individual with a special purpose; destined for happiness in the pursuit of greatness. This is how god created everyone, unique and special, and I try to take this mind into whatever I do. With the strength that God gives me every day, challenges are seen as opportunities to further develop talents and skills. TOP |
